1. Purpose
One dashboard shows the two sides of financial support to WikiDeal:
- Donations (donor view): how much I gave, how much I can still give, and what a new donation could bring me according to the bonding curve.
- Rewards: how much I received, and the cash transfer amount "transferable to your bank account" (direct bank transfer), which starts very low and grows as subscriptions come in.
The dashboard makes the whole mechanism transparent and verifiable (wiki culture and Ethereum culture) and pleasantly engaging: watching subscriptions arrive and your reward grow.
2. Three key words
A sample donation of CHF 1'000 at ×100 with a Foundation need of 100% gives a potential reward of CHF 100'000 NOT GUARANTEED.
3. The bonding curve
The bonding curve is a fixed algorithm: it starts at ×100, ends at ×30 and distributes 50 million rewards according to a mathematical formula (sample description, subject to validation). Earlier donations get a higher multiplier. The ×30 floor comes from this curve: the effective multiplier never goes below ×30.
4. The Foundation need
The multiplier alone is not enough: it is balanced by the Foundation need, a percentage, fully automatic, with needs defined by the steering committee.
The dashboard shows the Foundation need as a gauge: red at full need (100%), green at partly need (below 100%). Inside the gauge sits the key figure of the system: the functioning variable, CHF 10'000/month, set at launch and adjustable.
- Full need (100%) means the outstanding requirement is not covered: the multiplier is full.
- Below 100% the need is called partly need.
- Once the outstanding requirement is covered, the Foundation need descends below 100% as the foundation provision fills.
- When the provision reaches 3 months of functioning cost, the Foundation need is 30%: the multiplier is at the ×30 floor.
Outstanding requirement = CHF 100'000 + CHF 10'000 × (months - 1) - cumulative donations (never shown below CHF 0). The need stays at full need, multiplier ×100, as long as this amount is not covered; the pace of donations is what brings it down.
| Foundation need | Effective multiplier (nominal ×100) |
|---|---|
| full need: 100% (month 1) | ×100 |
| partly need: 80% | ×80 |
| partly need: 60% | ×60 |
| partly need: 30% | ×30 (floor) |
Proposed formula for the descent, to be validated: Foundation need = 100% - 70% × (months of provision covered ÷ 3). The descent only starts once the outstanding requirement is covered. The provision is the last figure of the system: it drives the Foundation need.
5. The foundation provision
Half of the incoming money goes to the monthly functioning costs, half to the initial requirement. The foundation provision (target: 3 months of functioning cost) funds maintenance and development. It is not a reward. The foundation margin, the gap between what the bonding curve promises and the reward actually attributed when the Foundation need is below 100% (partly need), feeds this provision.
6. When you donate
- Your potential reward appears (sample: CHF 1'000 at ×100 shows CHF 100'000).
- Then the question: "What percentage do you want to give to the foundation?" Free choice from 0% to 100% (0% is allowed).
- Two presets: "cashback" (×1: you get back just the amount you donated, the rest goes to the foundation) and "full donation" (100% to the foundation).
Sample free choice: 25% to the foundation on a CHF 100'000 reward = CHF 25'000 to the foundation, CHF 75'000 kept as potential reward.
7. Rewards
- The reward is a potential ceiling NOT GUARANTEED, paid only from real subscription income, with no guarantee.
- Each paid subscription (CHF 10/year or EUR 1/month) sends a small part to reward holders, distributed pro-rata among reward holders (proposed, to be validated).
- The cash transfer amount "transferable to your bank account" guaranteed starts very low and grows with every subscription paid. How to cash →
8. Public transparency
- Total raised and number of donors (funding round of CHF 1'000'000, progress bar).
- Last donation: amount and time only, never the identity.
- Foundation margin (percentage shown big, absolute value small) and foundation provision.
- Model: 10% of each Entry Ticket to Early Supporters (fixed), 90% to supporters via the Community / Personal slider (the slider can only increase the community share).
9. Payment flow
- Credit card via Stripe: donation or subscription paid by credit card.
- Foundation account, holding period: funds arrive on the Ynternet.org Foundation account with a holding period (illustrative: 7 days).
- Foundation confirms: the Ynternet.org Foundation confirms the payment and activates the promised reward NOT GUARANTEED. Never automatic on reception.
- Transferable to your bank account: the activated reward becomes progressively transferable, funded by real subscription income.
