Article 1 β Parties and Educational Objectives
This agreement is between the Student (or their legal Guardian, hereafter collectively "Recipient") and the Tutor (Provider), both registered on the WikiDeal Education Portal. The parties agree on a specific subject area, learning level, and measurable objectives at the time of booking. These objectives are recorded in the platform's session plan tool and serve as the basis for evaluating the Provider's performance and the Recipient's progress. The Provider acknowledges they are not a licensed teacher (unless separately indicated in their profile) and that tutoring services are supplementary to formal education.
Article 2 β Session Format and Materials
Sessions may be conducted in person (at a location agreed by both parties), online via the WikiDeal platform's integrated video tool, or in a hybrid format. The Provider is responsible for preparing session materials appropriate to the agreed subject and level. Materials created by the Provider for use in WikiDeal tutoring sessions are automatically licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0 and may be shared with the WikiDeal Education Portal's open resource library, unless the Provider explicitly opts out during session creation.
Article 3 β Progress Reporting and Accountability
The Provider shall provide a brief progress report after each session via the platform's reporting tool, summarising topics covered, the student's progress, and recommended preparation before the next session. These reports are visible to the Recipient and stored in the platform for the duration of the agreement plus 12 months. Progress reports form the evidentiary basis for any disputes regarding service quality. If a Recipient disputes the quality of tuition, the Provider's session reports and the Recipient's own session ratings are the primary evidence considered by arbitrators.
Article 4 β Compensation, Package Deals, and Cancellations
The Provider sets an hourly rate visible on their platform profile. Multi-session packages may be offered at a discount (up to 15% off the standard rate) and pre-paid via the platform. Unused sessions in a pre-paid package are refunded at the discounted rate if the agreement is terminated by the Recipient with 7 days' notice; sessions cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time are non-refundable. If the Provider cancels a session with less than 48 hours' notice more than twice in a 60-day period, the Recipient may terminate the package agreement with a full refund of remaining sessions.
Article 5 β Confidentiality and Data
The Provider agrees to maintain the confidentiality of the student's educational records, performance, and any personal information disclosed during sessions. This information may not be shared with third parties without the Recipient's explicit written consent. Session content and student progress data are stored on the WikiDeal platform under WikiDeal's privacy policy (local-first architecture, minimum data principle). The Provider acknowledges that WikiDeal does not own or commercialise student educational data.
